Telangana Government Grants Rs21000 Crore for Education Incentives.
Telangana government has made an outstanding commitment to education with their latest budget allocation of Rs21,292 crore - representing an increase of 7.3% year on year compared with what had been allocated previously.
Higher Education:
A substantial allocation of Rs3,350 crore has been set aside for higher education. This investment will fund infrastructure development at key universities like Osmania University, Women's University and Kakatiya University - helping modernize campuses, upgrade facilities and enhance the overall quality in higher education across the state.
School Education:
The remaining Rs17,942 crore will be dedicated to improving school education. This includes addressing teacher vacancies through a comprehensive District Selection Committee (DSC) process which seeks to fill 11,062 teacher posts; additionally, plans include turning Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into centres of excellence to increase vocational training opportunities.
Recognizing the significance of creating an ideal learning environment, the government has pledged to invest Rs500 crore for infrastructure development across universities in Rajasthan. This investment will create modern campuses equipped with state-of-the-art facilities so students can have access to modern facilities.
Skilling:
The budget places great emphasis on skill development by turning ITIs into centres of excellence, equipping students with practical skills that increase employability and strengthen employability. By emphasizing vocational training programs for young adults, the government ensures they will be better prepared for the job market when entering university or training institutes.
To broaden educational horizons and meet student interests across disciplines, the government plans to introduce a number of elective courses across different subjects. These electives will enable students to gain exposure to diverse fields of study for an all-rounded education experience.
